When a sensor fails a diagnostic test, first clean the inner surfaces of the sensor and then perform the test again. Sensor tests (when applicable) using the printer's various diagnostics utilities check for proper sensor operation. ![]() ![]() If the jam happens consistently, inspect the rollers and sensors in the area described by the printer. When a jam occurs, the printer uses a corresponding failure code or error message to show the likely problem location. Paper jam errors result when a sheet has been detected by a sensor at the wrong time or fails to reach a sensor in the time alloted.
